Week 1 Day 1: The Journey Begins....again.

In the Beginning.....

Last August 2013, I reached my Lifetime goal at WW.  I was stoked.  I remember that I ate really well, exercised a whole bunch, and bought a whole new wardrobe.  See my smile!
I remember taking this pic about a month later.  My goal had always been to run in a half tank top.  At this stage, I thought I needed just a little more toning in the tummy before I was comfortable showing it off.
I was crazy not to think I looked great.

and then.....

That fall, I was reassigned a new grade level and the stress of moving classrooms, learning what is required to teach and being a good mom and wife got to me.  I gained it all back plus 10 lbs.  Total: 20 lbs gained!  (I'll save that pic for later.)

My goal in 2014 was to train and run my first marathon.  The marathon is in 6 weeks on August 24.  During the past few weeks, I have experienced, shin splits, runner's knee, sciatica on my left side, tight pants, swelling, nausea, and light depression.  I feel like I'm in a fog most of the time and honestly, very overwhelmed.

So, yesterday on my light run, I thought of ways to bring back my old self and have fun with the journey of training, losing weight and regaining focus.  I figured that since it took about 9 months to gain 20 lbs, I would blog about losing my "food baby," the baby-sized pooch that developed during my lapse in nutrition and exercise.

My goal in weight loss and wellness:
To create and sustain a healthy diet and weight
Exercise daily with strength training, core strength and flexibility as a focus.
Lose the 20 lbs.
Do this all with my family and students

For this blog, my plan is to reflect on my practices during the day to reach that goal.

Although I know this will be a lifetime goal, I am focusing this blog to a 40 week journey.  I'm sure the weight will be gone, but the habits will need to be practiced so that I can make them into a new lifestyle.
